Cole Bradley Taylor’s Newborn Hospital Photos
It’s so hard to believe that Cole Bradley Taylor is already two weeks old! I’m already behind in blogging his life. These last two weeks have flown by! I wanted to share Cole’s newborn hospital photos with you. I wasn’t able to have a professional photographer, but Dwight (my anesthesiologist) did a fabulous job! As Cole was a scheduled C-Section, we had a completely different experience with him, and I was so grateful. I have to be honest. I really didn’t think we would still be dealing with a pandemic when Cole arrived, but I was wrong. But such is life, right? Thankfully we have all been safe and healthy. Thanks to everyone who sent us so much love and offered up so many prayers.
His Name
Cole Bradley Taylor is named after one of my favorite students I ever got to teach when I was a teacher and my father, Bradley Burr! And, appropriately so, Cole came out looking more like a Burr than a Taylor. He has dark hair like my dad that is already lightening, and he has tan skin. I think he got a little of the Romanian in him. He was 9 pounds 9 ounces at birth (thank goodness we had a planned C-section) and he was 21.5 inches long. He was a whole pound heavier than Kaden and 1/2 an inch longer.
His Look
At first I thought he looked like a carbon copy of Kaden, but after a couple days he really started to look like himself, the little Cole nugget that he is.
I was so curious to see what Cole would look like because in the sonogram, it was next to impossible to get a profile image, so they kept printing photos of his hair. Kaden had hardly any hair, it was more like fuzz, until he was one years old. They do have a similar profile, similar features and a lot of the same mannerisms. It is so fun to see how they are alike and different physically.
Birth Experience
This birth experience was completely different. I was so much more cognizant of what was happening because I didn’t labor for 12 hours prior to the C-section. Every time I hear the song Dancing Queen I will now think of Cole’s birth as it was playing on the speakers in the operating room. My doctor is absolutely amazing! I love her and obviously trust her with my life. She asked me how much I thought Cole would weigh before we started and I guessed 8 pounds 8 oz. She guessed 9 pounds and I thought she was crazy. But then when she held him up she said, “Oh my gosh he’s bigger than I thought!” I could not believe how big he looked!! So chunky and he really had some crazy big cheeks on him! I loved it!
Thank You All
We are so grateful for everyone staying healthy, and also how quickly I have recovered. Again, thank you so much for all of the prayers! I wanted to share some photos from our Hospital Days. To see Kaden’s Hospital Days click here. To see Kaden’s birth story click here.
