What to Pack in Your Hospital Bag

How to Pack Your Hospital Bag

There are so many lists online of what to pack in your hospital bag and I honestly didn’t need most of It when I got to the hospital to have Kaden. So, I figured you may want to see what I packed in my hospital bag the second time around.

What I Packed

Comfies// Make sure to pack some comfy pants, sweats, tees and socks. I even made sure to bring my slippers for going back and forth from the restroom. I also packed one of my favorite robes to throw over my comfies.

My Pillow// I don’t go anywhere without my pillow and I was so glad to have my own pillow at the hospital! I did put a different color pillowcase on it, so it didn’t get confused with the white pillows that they supply for you. I also brought a comfy blanket but Aaron ended up using it the most.

Boppy// This was super helpful for breastfeeding! I am so glad I brought it with me to the hospital! I highly recommend it.

A Charger// Make sure to pack a long phone charger so that you can reach it from wherever the plug may be.

Diffuser// This may seem silly to you… it did to my husband. But, he was glad we had it! I packed my diffuser and some oils so that the room didn’t smell so much like a hospital. We diffused a lot of gentle baby and I think it even helped Cole sleep.

Toiletries// Don’t forget your toothbrush and toothpaste, dry shampoo, makeup if you want it, etc. I didn’t wash my hair at the hospital so the dry shampoo was perfect, but you could bring shampoo and conditioner if you wanted to. I did bring a pair of shower shoes because it just made me feel better.

Going Home Outfits// I brought a comfy going home outfit for me and for baby Cole, a cute swaddle in case I took pics and a pacifier for him just in case.

What The Hospital Had

The hospital had diapers and swaddles and beanies. They really have it all so there is not much you have to pack for baby. I only packed what I might want for photos. It was helpful to have the diaper bag packed, but we just left it in the car for the drive home.

You will want to make sure that you have your carseat installed in your vehicle already. This will be so helpful when you leave to take baby home. If you need help installing your carseat you can take it to your local fire department and they will help you out.

I hope this post helps you know what to pack in your hospital bag.
