I take so many photos when I travel, but I’m so terrible about sharing them!! So, I’m going to start digging through my archive. But, I thought I would start with one of my most recent trips to visit a friend in Houston!
We had so much fun, I really don’t think we could have packed anything else into our short time. I didn’t take photos everywhere, but I did want to share a couple of my favorite places. I’m sure I will be visiting again soon!
Mackenzie and I started with a girl’s day which was so much fun! We went to grab food at a fun lunch spot called Local Foods. They have an amazing menu full of healthy eats. I chose a delicious harvest salad. It was huge and I thought I wouldn’t be able to finish it, but I put a really good dent in it! Seriously, this salad was amazing! And, if you know me, you know that I LOVE grapefruits and I just couldn’t help but try the pomegranate grapefruit lemonade. It was perfectly tart and sweet. It is my understanding that there are a few Local Foods in Houston and they are all decorated in their own flare, so make sure to dine at each location.
Mackenzie asked her friend for some recommendations since Mackenzie herself is new to Houston and one of the spots was our next stop on the tour. Tiny’s Milk & Cookies. It was phenomenal and I was skeptical, but it is true… they do serve the BEST chocolate chip cookie!! This cookie stand is an adorable blue barn door that opens to a “tiny” bakery. There were so many sweet treats and we didn’t try everything, but I can attest to the chocolate chip cookies! I will definitely be headed back to try some honey lavender ice cream soon!
Our last stop for Girls’ Day was Honey Art Café. This little coffee shop was so refreshing and inspiring. We both had matcha lattes which were wonderful, and sat at one of the tables surrounded by bright murals on the walls. The fun thing about Honey Art Café is that while enjoying your coffee or tea, you can also enjoy and dabble in some art. There are terrariums for you to build your own, jewelry to make, and water color sets to rent. You will not be without something to do in this creative café. I had to work while I was there, but I can’t wait to go back and rent some watercolors.
With the boys we stopped at quite a few fun restaurants and breweries, as well as toured the town and enjoyed some local coffee at Boomtown Coffee.
On our last morning, Mackenzie and Will took us to the EggHaus… Oh. My. Gosh. It was my favorite! I want to go back next time and buy one of those deliciously beautiful croissants! Everything we had was tasty… egg sandwiches, kolaches, and iced coffee for the win! It is a must stop place if you ask me!
Thanks for traveling along with me!! Enjoy your weekend!!
