Manic Monday

It wasn’t until I was on my way to my photo shoot last night in Deep Ellum that I realized I hadn’t written my Manic Monday post! It’s happening now! But first a sneak peek of my session yesterday! The rain had me worried all day, but the sun came out at the very end!

And, I got to take photos of the beautiful Mackenzie Stevenson and enjoy a fun dinner after at Dish Society! I highly recommend it! And then I spent the rest of the week frantically catching up on the business side of photography. I am continually surprised at the ratio of taking photos to everything else. But, the more I learn about owning my own business, the more I LOVE being a business owner!

Quickbooks was my project this week! I spent time with Brenda (my awesome CPA and neighbor) learning how to input everything into quickbooks and entering everything from the last YEAR! Yeah, you read that correctly. I got everything from August 2015 until now into my system! (Just finished yesterday!) It was a good chunk of time, but now I feel like I can breathe because all of my financials are in order. Phew!

Wednesday I got to have a girls night with the ladies from our life group! It was a blast filled with laughter, tacos, and wine! I am continually so grateful to have these fun gals to hang out with!

Thursday came and I was able to photograph a new project, or in Michele’s eyes, a finished project! Michele and Ronnie (our Life group leaders and owner of Vintage Home) just finished building their dream farmhouse and I got to take pictures!! There are little treasures around every nook and cranny and it was so fun!! Inspiration was just peeking through every little detail. My favorite is the “H” wall!  If you would like to see more photos of their house please follow @vintagehomedesigns on histogram and @vintage home on Facebook as we started giving you eyes into the dream they built together!! A little virtual tour through photographs is about to begin!

Friday I decided to take the day for me since I had a wedding on Sunday… so I spent the morning painting! Aaron was out of town and through reading our book (the 5 Love Languages), I have learned that his love language is acts of service. Mine is not. But, I have been consciously trying to live love in a way that he understands it. So, this week that meant painting the halls! Here they are! I am terrible and I forgot a before picture!! How dare I? But this hall used to be brown and the one below it used to be yellow!! They didn’t go with the rest of the house, but now they finally match! I couldn’t have done it without my wonderful mother-in-law and cousin, Kasie! We totally tackled it all in one morning.

The best part is that afterwards, Aaron posted THIS on Facebook, which was loving me through words of affirmation! I just got all giddy and happy inside!

While Aaron was busy admiring my hard work, I was coming home from one of the best Mexican food dinners I have had since I’ve been in Texas with two of my faves, Amanda and Alex Davis. If you haven’t experienced Fresco’s, please try it out!! I had the brisket rellenos with queso. Such a fun outdoor atmosphere too!

Saturday, Aaron Taylor and I spent the day getting things done around the house. Including one of the BEST purchases to date!! We bought a Roomba vacuum! Oh my goodness! It helps with dog hair so much! Gus wasn’t so sure about it though.

Sunday I got to shoot with one of the sweetest people, Jessica Nichole Websters. The wedding was at this gorgeous church and the reception was at the Cotton Mill! It was gorgeous. I think I instantly fell in love.

It was a fun and productive week and I’m so happy to have learned all that I did this week. Enjoy the small moments in life this week! They go quickly!
