Kit + Rebecca’s Maternity

So many people debate whether or not to do a maternity session, and I have to say that I think it’s a must! When you are pregnant, you are anticipating your time as a mother, but you may want to look back and remember that precious time you had at the beginning. The time when you were first talking to your child, your child is depending on you for life. You will be a mom for life and that will be full of so many memories, but you are not pregnant for very long and having one or two photos to capture that time will be fun to look back and remember. I don’t know if any of you are movie watchers? But, one of my favorite Christmas movies is The Family Stone. Sarah Jessica Parker’s character gives the family a photo of the matriarch of the family she is trying to fit in with, and that photo is even more precious when you realize that the matriarch is pregnant in the photo with her only daughter. It is a very touching moment in the movie. I, too, have a photo of my mom in the kitchen with her leggings and oversized sweatshirt. I believe she is cooking something and holding up a spoon. It is one of my favorite photos because she is so happy and she is pregnant in the photo with me. Women give their entire bodies to sustain the life of their child and that should be celebrated and glorified. Even though I am not a mother and I have never been pregnant, maternity photos have a special place in my heart.

Kit and Rebecca are two of the sweetest friends we have the pleasure of knowing! They are funny and up for an adventure, and they are going to make terrific parents. Kit and Rebecca, I hope you know how lucky Grace is to have you as parents! I know you are going to create so many fun memories together. I am so happy for you!
