Jumping for Joy!
I don’t even know where to begin this post, as everything has happened so quickly! I am super excited to announce that Meggie Taylor LLC is expanding! While I am scared (of failure) and excited (for a new creative adventure to embark on), most of all I am grateful! I am moving my home office into a beautiful, naturally lit office and gallery space on the Rockwall Downtown Square! This is probably the biggest and most nail-biting decision I have made in the 6 years of owning my own business, but I have realized that I am ready for a new challenge! Of course, I will still be photographing weddings… I LOVE them! …And I am not ready to leave them behind. However, they will be a little more limited. So, if you are looking to book for 2018-2019 please send me an email!
While there are still so many decisions to be made, right now I am most excited about going back to work, rather than working from home. I have loved every day spent in yoga pants, working in bed, wearing my slippers until 2pm, and meeting friends for lunch, but with that comes a little bit of blending work and personal, really late nights editing (because my office is in the other room), and lots of driving. Now, I will have an office space, a meeting space and a place to showcase what I really love, ART of all kinds! I have been saving photos to start a print shop, and while I thought my prints would make their debut online, I am realizing that they will make their debut in a brick and mortar storefront!! And, I couldn’t be happier! I will also be looking to showcase other artists, painters, sculptors, writers, singers, songwriters, photographers and more!
I want to create a creative space that gives artists an avenue to their biggest fans and admirers, as well as a place for our community to learn. Although there is a lot of transition expected, in time, I am looking to start hosting workshops in my space. Even if you don’t feel like you are artsy or call yourself an artist, my gallery will be a place for all who love to look at and experience art. I am so overjoyed by all of the overwhelming encouragement and support I have received just in the last few days! Thank you so much to everyone for all of your reassurance and sweet words!
Make sure to follow along as the adventure unfolds on Instagram and Facebook. I just started the painting process yesterday thanks to some fabulous friends! We even popped a little celebratory bubbly! I will keep you posted as things evolve and I begin my journey as a gallery owner in Rockwall, Texas.
P.s. If you are an artist, or know any artists who may be interested in showcasing their work please send an email to hello@meggietaylor.com.
