Fall Bucketlist

Happy Fall Y’all! I’m so excited to jump into cooler weather, fireside chats and s’mores, and lots of color changing leaves and pumpkin flavored things! Growing up in the desert, there wasn’t much change of seasons, and living in Texas, Fall is such a treat!! I hope you love my Fall Bucketlist I’m sharing just for you!

Queue my annual restart of Gilmore Girls (starting in the Jess or Logan years depending on my mood)! It’s my absolute favorite show and the Fall always puts me in the mood! I also will be putting on my cozies, grabbing a glass of wine and watching When Harry Met Sally for the umpteenth time! I cannot wait!

But since I can’t do It all every year, here is my Fall Bucketlist for this Fall, 2023!

My Bucketlist

Fall Bucketlist
  • Put out the Fall Decorations– I love putting Fall decoations out on the mantel, around the door, and in the kids rooms. This is fun and quick. This year I am trying to conserve funds, so I didn’t buy as many real pumpkins, but I am still excited to share our front porch! Trader Joe’s is a great way to cut back on pumpkin costs!! They have incredible prices!
  • Watch a Fall Movie and Show- As I said, I LOVE starting Gilmore Girls every Fall (…she says as she sips out of her Luke’s Mug) and I can’t go a year without watching When Harry Met Sally! For the kids, we love to watch It’s The Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown.
  • Bake a Fall Treat- My mom has the BEST pumpkin bread recipe and I am so excited to make It with the boys this year! They love all the pumpkin treats as much as I do!! (Again Trader Joe’s has so many! It’s hard not to buy all of them!) I even found a pumpkin sourdough recipe to try with my starter. I’m excited to experiment with that with the boys.
  • PIE!- You cannot do Fall without pie! I first learned to make my own pie crust at Miss Julie’s house across the street from my parents! She was amazing. Her pie crusts are delicious and every year I like to try a new filling!
Fall Bucketlist
  • Go to the Dallas Arboretum- This is always a favorite of ours. This year the pumpkins are Charlie Brown Themed and it’s so fun! As a member you can get in as early as 7am and beat the crowds.
  • Go to a Pumpkin Patch- In Rockwall we love to go to Blase Family Farms Pumpkin Patch. Not only can you pick out pumpkins and take photos, but they have a fun hay ride for the kids.
  • Go to the State Fair- We didn’t make It to the fair last year, so we are really hoping to make It this year with the kiddos. There’s so many things to explore, the petting zoo, the fair food, the rides and games! I think the boys will have a blast!
  • Make Cider and “Pot”-pourri- I always love to make some hot apple cider to take with us on an adventure, drink and watch a movie or just have a backyard picnic. The boys love It too! Aaron and I love to burn some potpouri as well, so we can fill our house with the smell of Fall. Just add water, cranberries, orange slices, cloves, cinnamon and lemon and put the burner on low. It is fabulous!
  • Games for the Kids- I found some free printable bingo games to play with the kids for Halloween. I think they will have fun with that. I’ll link them here. I love Mommy Made That! She has so many great resources… all for free for every occasion!
  • Decorating Pumpkins- We usually paint Pumpkins, but I found these adorable decoupage pumpkins that I think we will try this year. It’s just pressed flowers from Amazon and Mod Podge glue. I’ll make sure to share them with you!
