I think I have one of the best jobs in the world! I get to be part of the biggest day of people’s lives… the day they say “I do” and commit to one another for ever and ever. I get to see their love when it is raw and pure and most often untainted. It is new and it is so positive and confident. On a wedding day, the love the couple shows radiates from them, shining through every motion, every smile and every word. It is such a beautiful thing. The truth is that this love is young love. Most of the time, the couple will spend more time married than they have spent in love before their wedding.
In this life, things are fleeting. The “feeling” of love may not last your entire life with the one you’ve chosen to marry, but the choice to love is always there. I felt like I got a glimpse of the love of my Savior when I witnessed Harold + Cam’s love which has stood the test of time. Commitment. Security. Joy. Cam & Harold were married 50 years ago and they still look at each other and laugh. On the day of their anniversary celebration, their love radiated throughout the party. These two were adorable! Looking at all the photos they had around the room of their wedding day, I can only imagine how they were, full of optimism and young long. Now, 50 years later, they stood in front of their friends and family looking even more sure of the promises they had made to each other and have faithfully made to each other every day. What an encouragement to me and to others to keep chasing the one we have given our hearts to love. Happy Anniversary Harold & Cam! Thank you for letting me be a part of such a beautiful celebration. I wish you many more happy years ahead!
