Day Date Idea | The Dallas Arboretum
Do you need a day date idea? This past weekend, Aaron and I went on a day date to the Dallas Arboretum. It was amazing! As parents of two kids, one being extremely vocal, the Arboretum was the perfect spot for a little relaxation, peace and quiet, and sunshine. We have also been working really hard on being home for Kaden to have a normal and routine bedtime. The day date was the perfect way to ensure this.
Aaron and I ate at the Cafe inside which was so wonderful! We sat in the beautiful courtyard at a charming iron table and chairs with umbrellas for shade. The building itself Is white with a terra cotta roof and surrounded by palm trees. In my opinion there couldn’t be a more perfect and peaceful setting. We looked at each other and just laughed because we were so quiet for so long, but we both needed a little chill time. I ordered the chicken salad which was absolutely phenomenal and Aaron enjoyed his Chicago sandwich. We even indulged in an afternoon Dallas Blonde and Moscow Mule. Absolutely refreshing.
Once we finished eating, we took our drinks and sat on a couch overlooking White Rock Lake. I just can’t tell you how perfect It was! We had a chance to just enjoy conversation and look out at the sun shining on the lake. You know I love being anywhere by the water. This was a treat.
Then, we walked around and followed the sound of the music to the amphitheater where we got to enjoy some live music for awhile. I’m sure the next time we will go on a Sunday, we will bring the kiddos! It would make for a great family activity as well, but this Sunday It was just the grownups!
Membership
Aaron and I have had a family membership since the pandemic hit because we needed a change of scenery and It was so nice to be outside in fresh air. We have really loved It and so we renewed It again this year. The membership really pays for itself in two family visits. Everyone thinks of going to The Arboretum during Dallas Blooms and the Pumpkins or 12 Days of Christmas, but it’s beautiful year round! They even offer so many activities throughout the week as well as special member only events and walks.
